For the expansion of their existing house, the client required a mix of functions. A family entertainment room, swimming pool and bathroom/sauna were to be combined as the new wing for the main house. The result is a black box of brick, metal and steel with views to Lake Michigan and the surrounding gardens. Multiple, colorful skylights penetrate the green roof allowing views to the sky while swimming. Sliding doors provide easy transitions from the indoor spaces to the outdoor gardens.
