Bridge Buildings

AIA Distinguished Building Award

The two office buildings, spanning Amsterdam's beltway (A-10), are the very first developments in Amsterdam history, based on granted air-rights. As ingredients of an extensive urban plan, the two buildings now create a new street, connecting a separated neighborhood. The architectural character of the buildings, clad with brick, metal and glass are dominated by the exposed steel trusses facing the highway. At the street level, a transparent glass curtain wall creates a visual link with the A-10 beltway.
